Tan tien qi gong or qi gong of the 2nd brain: strengthening of the center
The tan tien qi gong or qi gong of the 2nd brain is a practice which makes it possible to relate the center (the tan tien) with the extremities of the body. We activate the different diaphragms and we learn to fill the center or (tan tien) with Qi (energy). Then this energy is released and sent to the extremities. The energy circuits are opened by stretching from the inside the fascia and muscle chains between the center and the extremities. This qigong is a wonderful preparation for the Fajin, the energy discharge in the internal martial arts. It’s a great preparation for Taiji Qigong Form 2 that we are teaching. These health exercises will bring you, fullness, confidence, centering, rooting and better fluidity and better circulation of qi throughout the body in order to prevent and relieve back problems, joints and internal pathologies by strengthening the center.
Posture and rooting: Iron shirt form 1
It is a very powerful grounding technique that helps us become aware of our structural alignment; knowing how to hold and position oneself to avoid creating tensions that will end up exhausting our body and our mind. Good posture allows energy and blood to fuel all of our anatomical structures to keep them healthy. While a tension in the shoulders can, in addition to creating nervous tension, end up exhausting the muscles, tendons (tendonitis, etc.) and even in the long term the bones (osteoporosis, etc.). In terms of qi gong this is called knowing how to align between the earth and the sky. We will also learn how to increase internal power. It is about increasing the internal pressure that will protect us physically and mentally from the daily pressures that the outside world puts on us. We drive cars with inflated tires so as not to feel all the vagaries of the road, in the same way our body must be able to protect itself from external pressures in order to be able, both physically and psychically, to follow our path without being disturbed. Illnesses originating from the outside, for example in Chinese medicine, are considered to stem from a drop in wei qi (defensive qi). It is an internal depression that lets in external pathogens. Strengthening your internal pressure means strengthening your general vitality. The internal pressure in the qigong is an important concept which allows the body to preserve its vitality, its tone, its base, its rooting. Internal pressure techniques are used to increase energy and blood flow and to concentrate energy in certain parts of the body, in order to regenerate, strengthen and protect the body. Particularly at the level of the belt, but also in the bones, and the organs. With the iron shirt 1 we will use different positions that will strengthen the different tendino-muscular chains, which in Chinese medicine we call the tendino-muscular meridians. Finally, it is a magnificent work of standing meditation that allows you to develop feelings of energy, centering, fullness of confidence and deep well-being. It will be a great grounding tool that will have a profound impact on your strengthening both mentally and physically.
