It is an internal work to strengthen the fascia tissues in the body, their resistance and elasticity. Unlike muscles which require constant repetition of exercises, once strengthened, the fascias are maintained for life, and can be strengthened into old age. We will use the energy of the heart, to promote the supply of blood to the fascias, the jing q, the essential energy produced in the genital organs and the earth/heaven connections to strengthen the fascias. We will learn to send these energies gathered in the fascias to the rhythm of the heart. Then we will use the bamboo or steel whips to detoxify and regenerate the cells of the body, freeing the tendon-muscle meridians from accumulated crystals and toxins. The fascias use little energy in terms of output and in comparison to the muscles which require a lot of energy for a low output. This is why the old Taoist sages observed that we could strengthen our fascias throughout our lives and thus avoid many health problems. The fascias in particular allow the body to hold in place, to maintain its unity while ensuring the circulation between the different structures. The fascias allow us to react very quickly and flexibly. Flexible fascias ensure a good circulation of energy (qi) throughout the body. Unlike the muscles, which we must constantly exercise if we do not want them to turn into fat, the strengthening of the tendons is an achievement that remains over time and each time we train we accumulate the results.
